ALFRED SPINK The National Game First Edition 1910 SIGNED ITEM: The National Game by Alfred H Spink, First Editon, 1910, SIGNED. DETAILS: Hard to find early baseball book. Hand signed by author Alfred H. Spink on title page to fellow journalist Homer Bassford. Has Bassford's library card on inside cover. Illustrated. CONDITION: Book is in Near Fine Condition. Smooth front and back maroon boards. Front board embossing is clearly visible with the faintest signs of wear. Please note that the gilt design is shiney with no flaking - unheard of for this title. Also the pinhead sized baseball and square bases are clearly visible with no fade - again unheard of for this title. Spine is tight and square. The gilted embossed lettering on spine cover is clean with letters clearly visible and no board rubbing. Interior pages are white to off-white with sharp print. Overall an exceptionally clean copy of a title that rarely appears above Good Condition. Indeed, book looks to be almost new. This is the cleanest copy of this title known to exist.
