A Lovely First Edition of One of the Best Modern Science Fiction Novels  MILLER, Jr. Walter M. A Canticle for Leibowitz.  A Novel. Philadelphia: J. B. Lippincott Company, 1960. Octavo. 320 pp. Publisher’s black cloth backstrip over pink paper boards, front cover stamped in black, spine lettered in pink, dust jacket.  Jacket with some mild wear as well as a few creased tears and some rubbing.  Still, a very good copy, better than usually seen. First edition of this highly acclaimed science fiction novel, and the winner of the 1961 Hugo Award. This book is one of the most respected and critically acclaimed science fiction novels of the modern period, although its subject matter transcends the usual trappings of the genre.
